DRUID joins forces with Infermedica to launch innovative symptom checker Virtual Assistant for private healthcare network Regina Maria – a one-of-a-kind tool.

DRUID, a market leader in conversational AI solutions, has finalized a new conversational healthcare project with private medical network Regina Maria, with the help of specialized healthcare technology solution provider Infermedica. The implementation is a novelty on the Romanian healthcare market, leveraging conversational AI technology's benefits to give Romanian patients a safer, more efficient symptoms checker tool, guiding them towards the right medical primary care, based on their described symptoms.

The new intelligent Virtual Assistant, available free of charge to Regina Maria patients on the company's website and in the mobile app, creates an engaging digital experience for patients by directing them fast and efficiently to the appropriate medical specialist for an appointment. The procedure is straightforward: once online, patients are guided through a comprehensive list of questions that help the conversational platform's powerful artificial intelligence (AI) engine make an informed assessment of their symptoms and risk factors. Following this analysis of symptoms and having a solid database of over 720 conditions, the Virtual Assistant connects the patient with the appropriate medical services and guides them to make an appointment in a fully automated and digitized process.

The Virtual Assistant is expected to significantly improve the patient journey, streamline the number, and augment the quality of medical visits; doctors have online access to the symptoms described by the patient, which are automatically saved in the system at the time of the appointment. In the long term, this will encourage education and prevention by guiding people more promptly and precisely towards a possible diagnosis, encouraging them to reach the right doctor sooner.

DRUID built the Virtual Assistant using Infermedica's API, a technology that provides flexible access to all features available on the Infermedica platform. The platform represents a complex toolbox of advanced medical technologies, including an AI-driven Inference Engine and the Medical Knowledge Base, which contains thousands of clinically validated medical concepts. So far, it has supported over 10 million digital health checkups around the world, and this number will only grow as it is used on a regular basis by Regina Maria's five million patients.
