The Mendham Township School District (MTSD) has launched a new AI-powered website assistant named “Spike.” This tool is designed to improve communication and enhance the user experience for families, staff, and community members. Visitors to the school district's website can now interact directly with Spike to navigate the site and locate important information more efficiently.

Built on Druid AI’s conversational AI platform, Spike provides always-on digital assistance to families, staff, and community members, serving as a modern receptionist to the district’s website. Users can ask questions in natural language and receive immediate, accurate, district-content-grounded responses. Whether families are searching for performance dates, registration forms, lunch menus or other commonly requested information, Spike is available 24/7, extending district responsiveness beyond office hours and helping reduce wait times for common inquiries.

Importantly, Spike cites the specific district web pages used to generate each response, reinforcing transparency, accuracy and trust.

“This is rooted in our belief that we should give our community the best communication possible,” said Superintendent of Schools, Salvatore M. Constantino, Ed.D. “Spike is all-encompassing, from helping families find what’s for lunch to reviewing a specific policy.”

“Always-on, accurate digital service is becoming an essential for every community,” said Joseph Kim, President and CEO of Druid AI. “Spike demonstrates how AI, when built with governance and transparency at the core, can make information instantly accessible while freeing staff for higher-impact work.”

By answering high-volume questions instantly, Spike helps district staff focus on more complex needs of community members while improving the overall digital experience

The district encourages community members to visit mendhamtwp.org and look for Spike in the bottom right-hand corner of the website to give it a try.
