DRUID, a company specialized in developing AI-powered chatbots for enterprise companies, announces a technological partnership with SDL, a global leader in digital language interpretation and real-time machine translation solutions. Through this partnership, DRUID chatbots will be able to simultaneously converse in multiple languages, thanks to SDL’s innovative Machine Translation solution.

Through the SDL integration, the DRUID virtual assistants gain the ability to have conversations in different languages with employees, clients, partners or suppliers, without the need to translate the data sources or the conversational flows. Often, a chatbot configured for conversations in English is subjected to questions in French or German. Of course, the chatbot can be configured with a conversational model for both French and German, as this is a built-in feature for the DRUID platform, but this requires additional effort. If the chatbot is connected to an enterprise data source (ERP, CRM, BI, HRIS, or other types of business applications), sending templates or forms from the internal business systems requires intensive translation efforts, which can become increasingly costly.

The development of an integration with SDL Machine Translation Cloud and Edge software enables Druid to provide a real-time interpreter function. The „interpreter mode” can translate conversations back and forth in more than 100 languages combinations, independent of the digital communications channel or device used. Moreover, the Live Chat component simplifies the scenario where a human operator or a virtual assistant (chatbot) provides customer support in multiple languages, simultaneously.

In order to provide a higher accuracy rate in automatic interpretation and translation, the solution allows the addition of company-specific product names, brands or terms into a Dictionary, or even perform a Deep Neural machine translation adaptation of the translation engines using translated anonymized chat logs. Currently 88 of the 100 largest organizations in the world use translation technology solutions provided by SDL.

“Multinational enterprises are faced with the challenge of making all the customer support information available to its employees, customers, and partners in different languages such as Russian, Spanish, German or Chinese. What is the fastest and most desirable approach to scale their customer support solution to multiple languages? As of today, we can solve this issue through intelligent virtual assistants, directly during a conversation, in almost any language”, declares Daniel Bălăceanu, Head of Products for DRUID.

“This partnership allows DRUID chatbots to provide a concrete solution to the need for personalized interaction, in a conversational, modern and intuitive way. SDL technology, validated by the most relevant companies in the world, is connected to the DRUID conversation platform. At this time, SDL’s Artificial Intelligence Neural Machine Translation technology can successfully supplement the need for human operators for customer support scenarios in over 100 languages”, said George Bara, VP Strategic Partnerships and Alliances at SDL.

DRUID (www.druidai.com) is a high-tech company that develops chatbots for Enterprise companies. Thanks to the preconfigured conversational templates and proprietary NLU technology, DRUID allows any company to easily design and deploy powerful smart virtual assistants engaged in specific conversations across roles, processes or industries.
